Welcome to Sand Castle Childcare
Experience the warmth of faith-based care and nurturing at our Christian daycare center, where we provide a loving and enriching environment for children to grow spiritually, emotionally, and academically.
Our program is developed using How Does Learning Happen? Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years which is based on the philosophy that children are competent, capable,
curious and rich in potential” (Loris Malaguzzi). At Sand Castle we are committed to providing children with a welcoming environment, age-appropriate resources, support, and Christian values that help children explore and grow to their full potential. Our program is inclusive and open to all faiths.

Programs We Offer
Infant
For ages 6 to 18 months. Our educators ensure a safe, nurturing environment, providing stimulating materials for development. Sleeping and feeding align with each child's needs. A daily report via our Lilio App keeps parents informed. Our program encourages independent exploration with ample teacher interaction, fostering social and emotional development through reading, singing, and activities. Outdoor time twice a day enhances infants' gross motor skills.
Toddler
For ages 18 to 24 months. Toddlers are eager explorers, and our educators create a safe, stimulating environment to support their learning. At Sand Castle, we prioritize play-based learning with weekly activities tailored to foster developmental needs and self-help, language, and social-emotional skills. Our staff aids in eating, dressing, and potty training, while outdoor time twice a day enhances gross motor skills.
Preschool (Jnr)
For children 2½ to 6 years old. In our program we establish a robust foundation for elementary years through activities like turn-taking, counting, coloring, and letter recognition. Preschoolers focus on self-help skills, problem-solving, recognizing and expressing emotions, and effective communication with peers and adults. Our dedicated educators support each child's mastery of these skills. Outdoor time twice a day enhances gross motor skills.
Kindergarten (Snr Preschool)
For children 38 months to 6 years, we provide an in-depth learning environment with a focus on science, math, language, art, and music. Additionally, we introduce French for those interested in pursuing French Immersion. Aligned with the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum, our program builds a strong elementary foundation through activities like turn-taking, counting, coloring, and letter recognition. Preschoolers continue enhancing self-help skills, problem-solving, emotional recognition and expression, and effective communication.
School Age (B/After Care, PD Days)
We know that as children get older, they become more independent and that’s when they need to be challenged. Our before and after school program includes enrichment programs such as music and soccer. Outdoor time, snack, reading, math and art are also an essential part of our program as it ensures your child’s mind is engaged and helps to create lifelong learning and exploration. We also offer care during PD days, March break, winter break and summer camps. Bussing is available from Burnt Elm, James Grieves, St. Rita's, and Malala Yousafzai for children in our B/After Care program.
Camps
Children ages 4 -12 can enjoy our March break, Winter or Summer camp. Our programs includes arts and crafts, sports, drama, special days, and field trips. It’s a great time to have fun and meet new friends in a large indoor and outdoor facility. Our camps are licensed with the Ministry of Education and are run by qualified staff: Nutritious meals, weekly themes with French, and language arts as an enrichment activity are included, as well as onsite programming or field trips.
